WE HAVE ANOTHER YEAR OF LUCKY (FOR THE FANS) THAT OPERACIÓN TRIUNFO HAS RETURNED TO SPANISH TELEVISION IN A BIG WAY, BEING THE MOST WATCHED ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM THIS PAST SUNDAY AND A WORLDWIDE TRENDING TOPIC.
THE 2020 TRIUMPHANT CONTESTANTS
If you missed Operación Triunfo , the studio and academy lights have now been turned on for the 16 new contestants who entered the academy last Sunday, January 12th. OT2020 to showcase their musical talents on TVE. The contestants who have entered this season are: Samantha, Ariadna, Anajú, Nia, Rafa, Gerard, Flavio, Bruno, Javy, Nick, Hugo, Anne, Maialen, Jesús, Eva, and Eli.
NEW JURY
Sevillian journalist and reporter Roberto Leal is once again the presenter of this edition of Operación Triunfo 2020, successfully interviewing the contestants each week. This season's judging panel includes Madrid-born singer Natalia Jiménez (lead singer of the band La Quinta Estación), former academy director Nina, and, along with Portu and Javier Llano, will be nominating contestants for elimination.
THE NEW DYNAMICS
One of the most surprising new features involves the contestant chosen each week as the audience favorite. This lucky individual can be nominated by the jury to leave the academy and therefore will not receive immunity. However, the benefits will change each week and may include singing solo or as a duet, choosing the repertoire, or saving someone from nomination. Another new surprise is the ability to nominate everyone. For example, if all the contestants sing off-key, they could all be nominated to leave the academy, thus eliminating the previous limit of four nominees per gala. Furthermore, the teachers may choose not to save any of them if they deem it appropriate. In this edition, the group song will be judged and will be evaluated and given the same weight as the duet or solo performances.
OT2020 GALA 1
Last night, after 10 pm, the contestants presented the group song as they had been rehearsing all week. They sang a Marisol Medley as a group song and as a tribute to the artist, who this year will receive the Goya Award of Honor at the 34th edition of the Goya Awards to be held in Malaga and broadcast on the same channel, TVE.
ARIADNA & NIA: “ GOOD AS HELL”
Ariadna and Nia who performed Good as hell, by Ariana Grande & Lizzo. As we had seen in the rehearsals prior to the performance, the two contestants had had a rather tough week since the performance demanded a high level of vocal and movement skills, in which both contestants ended up confessing: Ariadna: “I have never danced in my life, I don’t know how to dance.” Nia He has broken down due to the pressure he has felt this week.
Even so, they put on a good performance, although they were the youngest in this edition Ariadne (18 years old - Barcelona) was nominated to leave the academy. SAMANTHA & JAVY: I'LL WAIT FOR YOU HERE
The fifth duo to perform last night was Samantha and Javy, who sang the song "Espero Aquí" by Pablo López & Georgina.
What did you think of Samantha and Javy's performance? According to the judges this Sunday, Javy's performance was praised, with the judges calling it "a work of art on television." It was a great performance by the duo, who will continue in the competition, even though Samantha was nominated to leave the academy. She walked down the runway almost victorious. GÈRARD AND ANAJU: UP
Past the halfway point of the program, Gèrad and Anaju performed "Up" by Demi Lovato & Olly Murs. Although during the week we saw a duo that lacked a little communication, they gave a high-quality performance, with incredible chemistry, and achieved the cute effect the teachers were hoping for.
AnaJu opted for the Antarctic Earrings in rose burgundy from the new IKIGAI Collection, They made their outfit into a truly personalized look, combining metallic tones with a purple ruffled top and gold pants. A total success, right?
